The riders of the Château de Chantilly Equestrian Company, accompanied by performers and horses from the Grandes Écuries, bring to life a show that combines haute école, vaulting, carriage driving, acrobatics, and equestrian fantasies.

A favorite artist of the Duke of Aumale, Rosa Bonheur is featured in France’s largest museum dedicated to horses. *The Horse Market* (1853), her studies from life at horse fairs, and her own horses all reflect her fascination with this animal, whose power, grace, and individuality she captured with unprecedented precision.

Through drawings, paintings, photographs, and rare archival materials, the exhibition reveals the artist’s exceptional creative process. Presented in two parts—at the Musée Condé and the Musée vivant du Cheval—this event highlights the strong connection between Rosa Bonheur, Chantilly, and the horse, the “king of animals.”

Through unprecedented gemmological and historical analyses conducted as part of a large-scale interdisciplinary research project, this special exhibition sheds light on the history, science, and mysteries of this exceptional gemstone.
